EP1 - Episode 1

It's a new generation for Vanguard and at the head of the pack is Chrono Shindou, a misunderstood middle school student with a boring life until he finds a Vanguard deck in his cubbyhole one day. Chrono takes the deck to Card Capital 2, where part-time worker(!) and high school student Kamui shows him the ropes. But Kamui and the other customers are amazed because nobody has ever seen Chrono's clan before. Enter: Gear Chronicle!

EP2 - Episode 2

Kamui introduces Chrono to the latest Vanguard tech, including a quest system that can improve a fighter's grade. Kamui accompanies Chrono on his first quest, to help a kid find his lost Vanguard card, but they have rivals, the annoying and tricky but strong Team Trinity Dragon!

EP3 - Episode 3

Chrono picks a random quest to fight someone and goes to meet them at the Vanguard Colosseum, which employs the latest technology to make Vanguard fights more realistic than ever before. But Chrono's opponent turns out to be Kouji Ibuki, a cold-hearted pro who sees right through him.

EP4 - Episode 4

When Chrono takes on a quest that has him trying to coax his way into an elderly woman's home, he's upstaged by fellow Vanguard fighter Shion Kiba. This leads to a match between them at Card Capital 2, but will Chrono be able to take Kamui's advice and evolve enough to beat this tough opponent?

EP5 - Episode 5

Everyone is talking about the mysterious Gear Chronicle deck, possessed by only one person... who is currently suffering from a major toothache, but rather than going to the dentist, Chrono heads to Card Capital to fight a classmate, a beginner who's been coached by Tokoha, the girl destined to become Chrono's rival!

EP6 - Episode 6

Chrono goes to the local Dragon Empire Branch for an event and registers for a chance to fight the Kagero clan leader, Mamoru Anjou... but he's sidetracked by Vangarou, the Vanguard Association's official mascot. Vangarou demands a fight with Chrono, currently the only known possessor of the mysterious Gear Chronicle deck, but the jolly-looking costumed character has a VIP inside!

EP7 - Episode 7

Shion wants revenge after losing to Chrono, but he'll get his chance in an unexpected way: the Vanguard Quiz Tournament, an event that pits Vanguard Cardfighters against each other in games that test their knowledge, ingenuity, and fortitude!

EP8 - Episode 8

Nagisa returns, three years older than the last time we saw her, but none the wiser as she demands to fight Kamui with the usual high stakes of marriage! When Kamui chooses flight over Cardfight, though, Nagisa puts a bounty (via quest) on his head and even convinces Chrono to help track down her man.

EP9 - Episode 9

When Tokoha was young, she and an older friend, Akane, buried a time capsule. Now Akane is going to move abroad and the time capsule has been unearthed. Will Vanguard be able to help these two old friends gain a sense of closure and open a path to the future?

EP10 - Episode 10

This week's quest has Chrono meeting Jaime, a Spaniard who says he wants to see Japanese-style Vanguard firsthand, but then he drags Chrono all over town in a series of misadventures that may or may not have anything to do with Vanguard.

EP11 - Episode 11

Chrono is inspired to become stronger when he watches Jaime and Mamoru fight at the interleague tournament. Later, he accompanies Jaime to an orphanage, and realizes he has more in common than he thought with his Spanish friend. But how far are they willing to go when Jaime is about to lose his most treasured card?

EP12 - Episode 12

Chrono finally takes on his friend, Jaime, the up-and-coming superstar from the Euro League. Will Chrono crack under pressure in his first serious fight? Or will he discover more about the heat within ?

EP13 - Episode 13

What starts out as a simple get-together at Card Capital 2 to celebrate Chrono's move up to Grade 2 becomes an all-night party featuring ping pong, communal stew, and yes, Vanguard, too! Except Shin becomes a nervous wreck as the night goes on, since he's trying to fly under Misaki's radar...

EP14 - Episode 14

Chrono gets another mysterious new card from a stranger. He's quickly forced to use it as a powerful new opponent challenges him to a fight!

EP15 - Episode 15

The Masked Ghost proves to be more than urban legend as he goes around town, stealing a precious card from every Vanguard fighter that he beats. Shion may know Ghost's true identity, but is he strong enough to win back the stolen cards?

EP16 - Episode 16

The Dragon Empire Branch is holding a festival, and the already-overworked Mamoru has been put in charge, so he delegates a bit to his kid sister, Tokoha, who is tasked with coming up with a festival activity. Chrono is brought into the fold kicking and screaming, but comes up with a plan that may make the whole festival successful. Plus: Mamoru in three simultaneous Vanguard fights against our protagonists!

EP17 - Episode 17

Tokoha feels down after everyone sees her only as Mamoru's little sister. Making matters worse, her favorite baked treat is constantly sold out. When she learns that Chrono has been beating her to the punch every day, Tokoha challenges him to a Vanguard match, with a bag of croquette bread on the line.

EP18 - Episode 18

Chrono, Tokoha, and Shion take on a quest to help a shy Cardfighter who fell in love at first sight with a girl he fought a match with once but never saw again. Can the quarrelsome trio use their resources and wits to track the girl down when they've got nothing to go on except a single card she left behind?

EP19 - Episode 19

Kamui lends Chrono a DVD, Earth Defense Organization Caesar, which stars Team Caesar as a global defense force against invading giant monsters from space. What will lone wolf Chrono think of this team-centered story... and what does it have to do with Vanguard?

EP20 - Episode 20

The regional tournament is coming up, but the only way Chrono can participate is by forming a team of three people. Kamui steps in, signing up Chrono, Shion, and Tokoha together. The problem is, they don't get along at all...

EP21 - Episode 21

Team Still Undecided participates in a mini-tournament so Chrono can earn the points he needs to go up to grade 3, the minimum requirement for participation in the upcoming regional tournament. However, when Chrono spots a team cheating at the tournament, he can't help but get involved, a move that will have lasting repercussions for him and the team!

EP22 - Episode 22

After the events of last episode, Shindou turns his back on Vanguard and Gear Chronicle, only to witness his nameless nemesis claim the unwanted deck. Is Shindou really ready to give it up for good?

EP23 - Episode 23

Chrono is intent on getting to grade 3 before the big tournament, even though all of his points were recently taken from him. He finds a challenge with a jackpot payout that would take him back to grade 2 in one shot, but Chrono has no chance in the mysterious dark mansion if he goes it alone. And yet, he just quit his team...

EP24 - Episode 24

Chrono continues his mad dash for points by completing as many quests as possible, but if he misses even one, he won't have enough to make grade 3 by the entry deadline for the regional preliminary tournament. Meanwhile, Mamoru tries to help his little sister and her team behind the scenes...

EP25 - Episode 25

Chrono, Shion, and Tokoha participate in the survival Vanguard event, Chrono's last chance to get to grade 3 in time for regionals. But he and the others have plenty of rivals on the mountain, not to mention planned obstacles and the pitfalls of a natural environment!

EP26 - Episode 26

This episode serves as a perfect jumping-on point for real-life Vanguard fighters as Chrono shows a first-timer the ropes at Card Capital. Meanwhile, teammates Asuka and Shion drop by as they gear up for regionals!

EP27 - Episode 27

The regional tournament is finally here and team TRY3 is as ready as it'll ever be. But first, there's an exhibition match between the winner of the previous national tournament and Kanzaki, the director of the United Sanctuary branch. What does this match between two titans portend for the future of Chrono and friends?

EP28 - Episode 28

In the second round of the regional tournament, Chrono has a rematch with the wandering warrior, Takeru Baba! But Takeru has a lot of motivation for his travels, and when Chrono finds out what it is, it weakens his fighting skill!

EP29 - Episode 29

Team TRY3 has moved past the early rounds of the local tournament. Things start to get serious when Chrono goes up against Kariya of Demise, a team that has plenty of bad attitude and was specially-trained by the United Sanctuary branch.

EP30 - Episode 30

After Chrono's win, their second match with Team Demise pits Tokoha against the nasty Rin Hashima, who has an old grudge against Mamoru. During the fight, Rin exploits Tokoha's weakness, getting under her skin by calling her Mamoru's little sister.

EP31 - Episode 31

Shion has the tie-breaking match between Team TRY3 and Team Demise, but it's an uphill battle as his opponent seems to know everything about Shion, including the attacks he's going to make.

EP32 - Episode 32

Tokoha and Shion are still in a funk over losing at the regional tournament, so Chrono forces them to go with him to the beach in a cheer-up effort. But when the weather doesn't cooperate, the continued existence of TRY3 is up in the air...

EP33 - Episode 33

Chrono and Tokoha are still reeling from Shion's sudden announcement that he's quitting Vanguard. They do everything they can to persuade him to do otherwise, but Shion won't budge. Chrono finally resorts to one last desperate gambit to keep TRY3 together.

EP34 - Episode 34

Chrono, Tokoha, and Shion get complimentary passes to Vanguard idol Saya Yatomi's concert, but the TRY3 members end up with more than they bargain for, somehow getting dragged into working as security, wardrobe troubleshooters, and even becoming part of the show!

EP35 - Episode 35

Shion is fired up about having another crack at Team Demise at an upcoming United Sanctuary tournament, but Chrono is shaken by his aunt's revelation that his long-deceased father was a Vanguard fighter... and who apparently died because of it, so she forbids Chrono from ever playing again!

EP36 - Episode 36

Chrono, Tokoha, and Shion participate in the United Sanctuary Branch tournament, but something seems off from the get-go. That branch's fighters seem too pumped up and when they lose, they're dragged away by guards. Later, Chrono's opponent in the final match turns out to be Taiyou, who's changed a lot from the meek beginner he was when they first met.

EP37 - Episode 37

The members of TRY3 infiltrate United Sanctuary Branch and split up. Chrono searches for the seemingly-brainwashed Taiyou. Shion battles his frenemy and United Sanctuary convert, Yuya. Meanwhile, Tokoha trails Rin of Team Demise.

EP38 - Episode 38

Chrono, Shion, and Tokoha all have the chance to fight United Sanctuary Branch Chief Kanzaki, the mastermind of the brainwashing system that churns out strong fighters. TRY3 wants to tear that system down, but they'll have to beat Kanzaki first.

EP39 - Episode 39

When Chrono and friends take Taiyou to an amusement park for a little fun and brainwash deprogramming, the head Dog Trainer shows up to take Taiyou back to United Sanctuary branch for more training. Chrono gets in the way and a (Card)fight ensues...

EP40 - Episode 40

Team TRY3 is invited to United Sanctuary Branch for a special match, but will they be able to participate before the branch is suspended for its questionable training methods?

EP41 - Episode 41

As the special United Sanctuary match begins, Tokoha gets the chance to redeem herself against the queen of Team Demise, Rin Hashima.

EP42 - Episode 42

The special fight continues with a match between Shion and Shouma Shinonome, who claims to be able to see people's futures. Will his dark prophecy for Shion come true, or will our hero be able to carve out his own destiny?

EP43 - Episode 43

When the special match is put on hold, Chrono and friends investigate deeper behind the scenes of United Sanctuary Branch and discover what Branch Chief Kanzaki is really up to!

EP44 - Episode 44

Taiyou has gone through countless hours of training, all for the sake of defeating Chrono. Now is his chance as the two face off during the third fight of United Sanctuary's special match. But Chrono's goal is to get the old Taiyou back through an eye-opening battle!

EP45 - Episode 45

Chrono fights Branch Chief Kanzaki in a surprise match. If Chrono wins, Kanzaki has to admit the brutal United Sanctuary training system is wrong-headed and a mistake. But if Chrono loses, he has to give up his Gear Chronicle deck!

EP46 - Episode 46

The grand conclusion to the fight between Chrono and Kanzaki! Will Chrono capture the hearts and minds of an audience of enemies? Or will Kanzaki get his miracle while proving that weakness is a sin ?

EP47 - Episode 47

In the aftermath of Branch Chief Kanzaki's resignation, United Sanctuary Branch is under new management. Chrono agrees to meet with Ibuki to get some answers, but he won't be satisfied until they fight.

EP48 - Episode 48

In the final episode of the Vanguard G arc, Chrono's fight with Ibuki finishes, but not before the Depend Card is activated. Later, more light is shed on the mystery surrounding Chrono's father as well as a new, ambitious enemy...
