Yawara competes for Japan in the Atlanta Olympic Games as she meets with several familiar faces throughout the tournament.
Note: This special continues from where the anime TV series ends and adapts the final manga volumes.
The location is changed from Barcelona to Atlanta without explanation.
(Probably changed because at the time of movie release in 1996, the Olympic Games was held in Atlanta, while back in 1992 when the TV series ended, it was held in Barcelona.)
