Kidou Tenshi Angelic Layer

Suzuhara Misaki is a sixth grader who has just moved to Tokyo to live with her aunt.

She stumbles across a merchandising phenomenon known as Angelic Layer in which a person can purchase a doll and custom design it.

Once their doll is finished, they can link to it through new technology and have it move however they want, as long as its within the confines of a field known as a layer.

In these fields there are battles to see who is the best at Angelic Layer that occur at tourist traps or at special tournaments; Misaki meets a strange man known only as Icchan who gets her involved in the games.

The man for some reason believes that she has high potential to become one of the greatest players of all time...

      • EP1 - How Do You Do? My Very Own Angel

        Misaki moves to Tokyo to live with her aunt. After getting lost at the train station she sees an Angelic Fight on a big screen. A mysterious man, Icchan, who followed her out of the train station tells her more about 'Angelic Layer' and helps her to create her own angel, Hikaru.

      • EP2 - Do Your Best, Hikaru! It's Your First Fight

        Misaki gets confused on her way to the first day of school when she meets Hatoko, a 5 year old girl who knows a lot about Angelic Layer, she also meets Hatoko's older brother, Kotarou and his best friend Tamayo. On her way home from school Misaki once again meets Icchan who helps her to make clothes for Hikaru and brings her to an Angelic Layer training center so she can practise movements on the Layer... However Misaki accidentally signs up for a match!

      • EP3 - Who Are You? Misaki's Nervous Lesson

        Icchan gets Misaki an Angel Card, a membership that will allpw her to enter official tournaments. He also teaches her a training technique, dancing with music, which will help her to learn the timing of fights. When Icchan has to leave Oujiro, Wizard's Deus, introduces himself and helps Misaki to practise. Later Misaki is tricked into fighting an unfair fight with another Deus.

      • EP4 - The Day the Angel Flew Down

        After choosing her entry line Misaki and her friends attend the regional Championships. As she waits for her first battle Misaki watches Suzuka, Hitoko's Angel, fight her opponent, Nightingale, who she defeats with a single hit. Misaki's match doesn't go as well, her opponent's angel, Katrina', uses ice skates to gain speed and deliver a powerful, and nearly flawless, spin kick gains an early advantage.

      • EP5 - I Don't Want to Lose! I'm Believing in Hikaru

        Misaki enjoys playing Angelic Layer and she loves Hikaru with all her heart, but when she goes up against the Power-type Vasquez, her confidence and self-esteem falters and has Hikaru engage in the 'hit and run' technique during battle, winning by a sheer stroke of luck. This angers Hatoko, who claims that Misaki has stopped believing in Hikaru and in herself.

      • EP6 - The Light-Speed Suzuka! Hotoko's Declaration of Rivalry

        The Tokyo Regional Qualifiers continue. We get to see small portions of some of Misaki's fights. Misaki ends up having to fight Hatako. Hatako asks Misaki to promise not to lose to anyone but her and meet at the Kanto Games.

      • EP7 - Fight to the Limit... Misaki's Last Chance

        Misaki fights her last match in the Tokyo Regional Qualifiers. Both Misaki and her opponent discover the fun of playing Angelic Layer, even while competing. The Angels advancing to the Kanto Games are announced.

      • EP8 - Misaki vs Misaki? The Dangerous Classmate

        Misaki's classmate, Ryo Misaki claims that girls can't beat boys at Angelic Layer if the fight is fair . Eventually they end up having a match.

      • EP9 - Sing Misaki! The Deus is an Idol

        The Kanto Area Qualifiers start, it is a single elimination tournament leading up to the National Games. Misaki fights in the very first match versus the idol, Ringo Seto and her Angel, Ranga.

      • EP10 - The Mean Sisters! And the Targeted Hikaru

        Misaki fights her second match in the Kanto Games. We see the Angels, Blanche and Shirahime for the first time. Misaki fights Madoka and her angel, Mao, but something is wrong. What is going on?

      • EP11 - The Match! Hikaru and Mao's Real Fight

        The fight against Mao continues. The Fujisaki sisters learn a valuable lesson about Angelic Layer. The semi-finalists are announced.

      • EP12 - Misaki and Kotaru - The Two's Exciting Date

        Misaki worries about what Hikaru's weak point is. Kotaro invites Misaki to watch him perform karate to try and help her out.

      • EP13 - The Pure White Buranshe - Kaede's Smile

        We get a glimpse of Kaede's home life and the origins of Blanche. The semi finals for the Kanto Games start and a new upgrade to the Layer is announced. Misaki and Hikaru face off versus Kaede and Blanche.

      • EP14 - Never Give Up! And Then an Angel was Born

        Blanche's Hyper Mode gives her more strength and speed than any other Angel Misaki has come across and she's not giving Hikaru much of a chance. Just when it seems that all hope is lost, Misaki realizes that, not only are her friends and fans counting on her, but Hikaru is too. Will it be enough to help her win the match?

      • EP15 - Shirahime vs Suzuka! The Ice Machine's Secret

        We learn some of the background of Sai and see hints of why she is involved in Angelic Layer. Sai and Shirahime face off versus Hatako and Suzuka. Who will win?

      • EP16 - The Final Match! Hikaru's Last Attack

        We are given a glimpse into the real reason that Sai plays Angelic Layer. The final match of the Kanto Games commences.

      • EP17 - I Choose You! Misaki's Chosen Person

        Misaki has made it all the way to the National Games, but before the competition begins, there is one more thing she must do- find someone to act as her second during the upcoming fights. But when Misaki's friends come over to congratulate her on her success, it becomes clear that they all want they all want to be chosen as her second! And as Misaki attempts to sift through all the offers and select the one person she really wants as her partner, Shuko has a decision of her own to make, as to whether it is finally time for her to come and see Misaki.

      • EP18 - Lots of Formidable Opponents! The Much Anticipated National Tournament

        With Hatoko by her side, Misaki heads for the opening ceremony of the National Games, determined to do her best no matter how stiff the competition. As the action gets underway, it becomes clear that all of the players are at the top of the game, but it soon becomes clear that there is one who still stands hand and shoulders above the rest- current champion ‘Shu' and her angel Athena.

      • EP19 - System Down? A Battle Onboard a Boat Amidst a Storm

        Misaki fights her first match against a Deus who is her physical opposite. A storm causes issues with the Layer.

      • EP20 - The Enemy is Icchan? The Stuttering Second Match

        Misaki has a surprise opponent in the second round of the National Games.

      • EP21 - The Summer Sea! Someone is in Love with Someone

        Misaki, Tamayo, Hatako and Kotaro go to the beach. The Angelic Layer development team also ends up at the same beach. Someone confesses their feelings, but will those feelings be returned?

      • EP22 - Suddenly Alone Together - The Secret Double Date

        Misaki runs into Ohjiro in town and they spend the day together. Kotaro and Tamayo get stuck in an elevator together. The next day Hikaru faces off against Wizard.

      • EP23 - Break into the Magical Wall! Misaki vs Ohjirou

        The National Semis are here and it's Hikaru vs. Wizard, Oujiro's Angel. His Magic Guard seems impenitrable and Hikaru can't get a hit in edgewise. It's going to take all of Misaki's skill to get her Angel out of this one as Oujiro struggles with his own feelings about Misaki and his first love: her mother.

      • EP24 - Reach Out to Misaki! This Feeling is Over the Rainbow

        Misaki ponders the days when she was writing letters to her mother. But for now, it is time for the second semifinal as Sai, with her angel Shirahime, battles Shuko and her angel Athena.

      • EP25 - Fateful Reunion - An Angel Soaked with Tears

        The secret is finally out! Shuko has told Misaki that she is her mother. But now Ohjiro is going to have them meet face to face, and have Misaki learn the truth as to what her mother had been doing in Tokyo all these years.

      • EP26 - Angels Wings! Pull Me and Hikaru Together

        Misaki and Hikaru are in the finals, and she is ready for biggest match ever as she faces three-time champion Athena, who is commanded by none other than her mother! Athena is the angel that Misaki modeled her own angel after, and with them having met each other for the first time in seven years, it is time for mother and daughter to communicate in the Layer. While only one angel will emerge as the champion, the battle is a win-win situation for everyone involved.
