Major 2nd 2nd Season
"One day, we're going to make the strongest battery ever!" Based on the promise to reunite with Hikaru again, Daigo has moved on to Fuurin Academy Middle School.
Daigo is the captain for the baseball club, but with all the older students gone, the team is all girls, including Mutsuko. With a group of peculiar newcomers, the new Fuurin Academy baseball club is off to a new start!

Our main character Shigeno Daigo is a 2nd year student in middle school, whose father is a pro baseball player who went as far as playing in the Major League. EP2 - That Catcher's Got a Sharp Tongue
The Fuurin baseball team just had 6 members, but with the addition of the Nishina and four other 1st years hailing from the famous Nanyou Lions, the upperclassmen redouble their focus and go to the field for morning practice. However, those 1st years declare that they have no intention of joining practice until their mentor from their Nanyou days, coach Kunitomo, finalizes his transfer to be the coach of the Fuurin baseball team. EP3 - What's with This Guy?!
Since the transfer of the new coach fell through, four of the 1st year boys decide to move on to the senior league. That means there are only three new members for the Fuurin baseball team, one boy, Nishina, and two girls from the famous Yokohama Little team, Anita and Chisato. They just managed to scrape together 9 members when they find out that their first public tournament is only two weeks away. Excited about the real matches coming up, catcher Anita immediately lays into Daigo that Mutsuko and Nishina as pitchers are not sufficient.

The morning of the first tournament match for the Fuurin Middle School Baseball team,Daigo's father Goro talks to his eternal friend, former teammate, and Daigo's coach in his grade school days, Satou Toshiya.While updating each other, Toshiya brings the conversation to the upcoming Fuurin match.Goro confidently tells Toshiya that Daigo can do it , based on Daigo's amazing commitment the past half year,after unexpectedly becoming captain of the team as a first-year.

The first opponent for Fuurin's new baseball team is going to be Itsuki Middle School. Itsuki's ace Yokouchi is surprised to see that Fuurin just has 9 players, of which 6 are girls. While complaining why he as the ace pitcher has to start against a team full of girls, Yokouchi faces off with Fuurin's top batter, Chisato. EP6 - Backup
Luckily, Fuurin was able to pull ahead with three runs in the first inning of their first regional preliminaries game. However, Itsuki's Yokouchi begins to mix in sliders that he had kept hidden up his sleeve until then, causing one batter after the other to strike out. Mutsuko combines accuracy and breaking balls to keep the Itsuki batters under control as well. Daigo prepares for a low score, close quarter game, and worries that the Fuurin defense might start to crack. Shortly after that, the 3rd-year Tanba on first base makes an unbelievable mistake.

EP7 - Mutsuko's Special Training
The next opponent for Fuurin's baseball team is going to be Seiwa, Daigo and Sakura's old Little League teammates Urabe and Andy now play. After seeing Seiwa steal 11 bases in their first match and seeing that match be called, both Anita and Daigo are made painfully aware that they need to do something to combat Seiwa's mobility and base stealing prowess. That's why Daigo calls the team to school even though they just finished a match, in order to allow their pitcher Mutsuko train so she can deal with the enemy runners.

EP8 - Extreme Small Ball
In order to not allow Seiwa to utilize their frightening mobility with base steals and bunt, Daigo and team do drills to teach their pitcher Mutsuko how to do pick-off attempts of runners.The next day, after having done their due diligence, Daigo and team go into their second game. Even though Daigo predicted that Seiwa would not recklessly attack from the beginning, Seiwa's top batter suddenly leaves the base. They immediately try to shake Fuurin's battery. While catcher Anita fiercely tries to get Mutsuko back into shape, eventually even she loses her cool...

EP9 - No Freakin' Way!
In the second match of the district preliminaries, Anita is too focused on being cautious of Seiwa Middle's mobility and loses sight of everything else.Even from right field, Nishina saw this and points out her missteps so accurately that Anita can't retort.She had painful memories about the catcher position from her time at the prestigious Yokohama Littles as well.Concerned that she's a failure as a catcher, and down on herself despite the game still going on, she asks Daigo to take over catching.

EP10 - That Old Daigo Magic?
Fuurin Middle managed to catch up thanks to Anita's hit, but in the top of the 6th inning, they let Seiwa all but secure their win with a long hit.To make matters worse, catcher Anita injures her wrist during a close play.Thus Daigo will switch from left field to catcher.In the dangerous situation of having 1st and 3rd bases loaded, up to bat for Seiwa is their #4, Andy.Up against their old teammate with the mighty swing, what is Daigo and Mutsuko's strategy?!

EP11 - Last Inning
The 2nd match of the district preliminaries is finally entering the final inning!In the top of the 7th inning, Fuurin Middle allows Seiwa Middle to widen the gap further by scoring another run.However, thanks to Nishina, who was suddenly put onto the mound, Fuurin narrowly makes it through this tight spot.However, their #4 Anita had just hurt her wrist...Seiwa's battery, Urabe and Andy, keep pitching inside to attack her weak spot.

With Daigo's epic game ending hit, Fuurin Middle defeats the formidable opponent Seiwa Middle, where Daigo's old friends Urabe and Andy play.They are now moving on to the semi-finals of the district tournament.Despite being tired from the intense game, the Fuurin players watch another school's game, however Tao and Yayoi sneak away after the game.Anita had looked up to Tao and Yayoi as her senpais since their time at Yokohama Littles, so their behavior deeply concerns her while she goes to have her injury checked out.

Even though the heavy rain from the day before had barely stopped, Fuurin Middle has to play in the semifinals against Yanagawa Middle.As she was injured, Anita is moved down to 6th batter, with Daigo being 4th and Nishina 5th.Starting pitcher for the team of 9 is Mutsuko again, which catches her by surprise, as she expected to swapped out for Chisato.However, Daigo earnestly tells her how impressed he is by her growth.

EP14 - An Unexpected Reunion
Thanks to Kandori's incredible grand slam, Fuurin Middle win the semifinals and hastily begin to make preparations for the finals in the afternoon. Daigo helps Nishina with pitching practice as he's the starting pitcher for the finals, while Mutsuko and the others observe the Eihou Academy vs Oobi Middle School game. However, Eihou and Oobi's game takes an unexpected turn and after Daigo is rushed to the stands, a face he sees amidst Oobi Middle's line up rattles him...

It's the finals against Oobi Middle with Mayumura Michiru and three other formidable players. As Fuurin's starting pitcher Nishina pitches with all his might from the beginning, he runs out of stamina and coupled with defense bloopers, they lose 5 runs in the bottom of the third inning. Instead of letting Nishina continue, Chisato from center field takes over in the 4th inning. Though she has some experience from her time at Yokohama Littles, this is the first time in middle school. Her father is over-excited in the stands, but what kind of pitching performance will Chisato give?!

EP17 - The Unexpected Pitcher
Chisato's timely hit in the top of the 5th inning finally allows Fuurin to break free from their no-hit spell and get two runs in against Oobi's second pitcher Idemitsu. However, Oobi then puts Mayumura in as a reliever and she ends the offense after Tao hits a grounder to shortstop. While Chisato had shown surprisingly nice pitching after starting in the 4th inning, she's out of energy and has no grip strength left for another inning. Due to inning restrictions, Mutsuko can't get up on the mound, but then who will pitch?

EP18 - We've Come This Far
While Yayoi, emergency reliever taking over for Chisato, is able to subdue the Oobi batters, Fuurin's counter-offense is also shut down.The game goes into the final inning with Oobi Middle leading with three runs.In the all or nothing top of the 7th inning, Fuurin has a real chance with two outs, but first and third loaded!Top batter Chisato toughs it out until four balls, turning up the pressure on Oobi with two outs and fully loaded bases.Then, it's Tao's turn, who had been shut down too easily in the previous inning.

Fuurin makes a phenomenal comeback and an upset, but then Yayoi has to face off against Oobi's strongest batters!Then, the final match between Daigo's Fuurin Middle and Oobi Middle comes to a close.After this intense finale, Daigo gets home, both physically and mentally drained.Even though it seems that Daigo might not be able to keep going, a piece of paper on his desk changes everything.It was a letter from his father, who had watched over their dramatic fight against Oobi Middle.

Fuurin Middle got their wish of having a practice match against the elite team of Tsujidou Academy, but had to put their manager Chiyo into their lineup for the hospitalized Chiba.Seeing that they have seven girls, they are assigned a 10 run handicap, which irritates even Daigo. In order to get Tsujidou back for that, Yayoi and Tao make good defensive plays and at bat, Daigo and Anita whittle down the opposing pitcher, Oka.

Even though Fuurin Middle has a huge lead against Tsujidou Middle, once their real A-team comes into play, the lead all but evaporates. On top of that, when Sakaguchi Hikaru (Satou Hikaru), Daigo's and Mutsuko's teammate from their grade school days, comes onto the field as Tsujidou's catcher, Daigo is visibly shaken. Hikaru tells him that he's looking to become a Major League catcher, just like his father Tsohiya. How good has Hikaru become?

The Fuurin baseball team suffered a humiliating defeat by Tsujidou Middle.It seems like Tao and Yayoi are done after having the boys' superiority thrust in their faces.Nishina and Anita train even harder, vowing to get revenge.Mutsuko's confidence as a pitcher has been crushed.And it seems Daigo has lost his passion after being ridiculed by Hikaru.While Kandori and Chiyo can only watch their teammates flounder, Chisato is still her quirky self.Is there something that could reunite the nine Fuurin souls?
