The morning of the first tournament match for the Fuurin Middle School Baseball team,

Daigo's father Goro talks to his eternal friend, former teammate, and Daigo's coach in his grade school days, Satou Toshiya.

While updating each other, Toshiya brings the conversation to the upcoming Fuurin match.

Goro confidently tells Toshiya that "Daigo can do it", based on Daigo's amazing commitment the past half year,

after unexpectedly becoming captain of the team as a first-year.
