EP102 オタクは話好き
A debate show that has gathered 100 otaku is on the air. Shinpachi, the captain of the Tsu Terakado Fan Club, is amongst the participants. As everyone gets into a heated argument over their beliefs, one man has a fierce dispute with Shinpachi. That man is Hijikata who was driven out of the Shinsengumi after being turned into an otaku by the demon sword's curse. Confronted by a completely different Hijikata, Gintoki and the others learn the demon sword's terrifying past. Meanwhile, Ito has quickly gained power within the Shinsengumi and the squad members are starting to give off threatening vibes.

Hijikata visits a swordsmith to fix his favorite sword. He ignores the owner’s advice and leaves with a cursed demon sword. On his way back to the Shinsengumi headquarters, a group of ronin pick a fight with him. Hijikata decides to test out his new sword, but once he takes hold of it the demon sword's curse turns him into a weakling! Hijikata is stuck in a dangerous situation but someone saves him. Kamotaro Ito, the Shinsengumi's advisor who has returned to Edo after a year-long absence.

Gintoki and the others rush to Number 502, who plans to take control of Edo with machines. They head to the terminal in Gengai's tank. Gengai and the tank are lost in an attack by a giant maid. Gintoki and the gang are suddenly attacked by maids and split up into two groups. Gintoki and Kagura act as decoys to draw away the enemy maids, while Shinpachi takes Tama to Gengai. Tama tells Shinpachi that he has a 5 percent chance of surviving and suggests that he should leave her and run away. But Shinpachi tells her that a samurai protects the person they have sworn to protect no matter what. His words stir a mysterious sensation within Tama that she was not programmed to feel.

Gintoki tosses out his magazines on the day for combustible garbage pickup. Scared off by a terrifying commercial, Gintoki goes back to retrieve his magazines, but passes out after seeing a woman's severed head at the dumping ground. The next day, Gintoki wakes up in his room and is relieved when he thinks it was just a dream, only to find the severed head in Kagura's hands. EP64 - Eating Nmaibo Can Make You Full in No Time!
Katsura, who is secretly a member of the Joi Faction, is visited by a reporter from the talk show The Edo. Katsura tells reporter Hanano that he wants the citizens to know about the work that the Joi Faction has done and think about what they can do for the country. Led by Okita, the Shinsengumi barges in, and Katsura is forced to run. He takes out a corn potage-flavored Nmaibo from his kimono and shows it to the Shinsengumi, explaining that he carries it around as emergency rations. The Shinsengumi continue to pursue him, and Katsura throws the Nmaibo onto the roof. The Nmaibo acts as a smoke screen, and Katsura and his group manage to escape.

One night, as Zenzo is about to land, Gintoki crashes his scooter into Zenzo's backside. Ignoring the pain of his hemorrhoids, Zenzo grabs the pizza box to make his delivery. But instead of the pizza box, Zenzo accidentally grabs Gintoki's Jump. Zenzo's client, Okuni, takes the Jump and tells Zenzo that misfortune will befall his rear and that he should be careful.

EP62 - Even Mummy Hunters Sometimes Turn into Mummys
Hijikata receives a report from Shinsengumi inspector Yamazaki about the struggle between the Katsura Faction and Takasugi Faction. Included is information on sightings of people who appear to be the Jacks-of-all-trades in the riot. Hijikata suspects that Gintoki has connections with the Antiforeigner Faction, so he orders Yamazaki to investigate Gintoki's affairs. Yamazaki questions Gintoki's friends, but he isn't able to get anything out of them. At his wit's end, Yamazaki ends up visiting the Jacks-of-all-trades. The Jacks-of-all-trades are out, but he gets information that Gintoki is receiving medical treatment at Shinpachi's house.

EP61 - On A Moonless Night, Insects Are Drawn To The Light
Gintoki and Nizou battle to the death on the deck of Takasugi's ship. The anti-battleship weapon Benizakura has infiltrated Nizou's mind, driving Nizou out of control. Gintoki fights back with a sword forged by Tetsuko. Nizou attacks with overwhelming strength, but slowly, the battle begins to turn in Gintoki's favor. Meanwhile, within the ship, Takasugi plans to use the Benizakura to overthrow the shogunate, but he is confronted by Tetsuya, the man who forged the Benizakura, Tetsuya's younger sister Tetsuko, and Katsura.

The Katsura’s Faction launches a midair battle against Takasugi to avenge Katsura, who was attacked by Nizou the Butcher. Mutsu's Pleasure Support Club tries to deliver batteries so powerful that one can power a space battleship to Aoki and Co. But a group of men dressed in black shows up and steals the batteries and the money. Mutsu asks the Odd Jobs to recover the batteries and the money and capture the Pleasure Support Club’s missing leader, Sakamoto. Gintoki and the others easily capture Sakamoto and go to Aoki and Co., but find no clues. Gintoki and the others are forced to go along with Sakamoto's plan to go out gallivanting and drinking. As they totter down the night road, heading home, a group sneaks up behind them. Gintoki and Sakamoto realize the danger they're in and reminisce about the past as they confront their attackers. Sakamoto fires a gun and bluffs the enemy into retreating so no one gets hurt.

EP56 - Keep An Eye On The Chief For The Day
Edo is in an uproar about the serial kidnappings of women. The Shinsengumi goes overboard in cracking down and sees a sudden drop in their public image. Kondou invites pop idol Tsu Terakado to be chief for the day in order to call on Edo residents to prevent crimes, as well as to boost the Shinsengumi's image. Otsu is eager to do her duty and begins reforming the Shinsengumi, beginning with the bureau's regulations. The Odd Jobs Trio are asked by Otsu to accompany her dressed up as the uninspiring mascot character Makoto-chan. The Shinsengumi realizes who they are and a fight breaks out. While they fight, someone kidnaps Otsu.

Katsuo knocks Hachiro out and makes unreasonable demands of Kyoshiro, which Gintoki and the others oppose by acting as hosts.
