Asatte no Houkou.
A girl and a woman — tied together by their secret desires, a young man and a small roadside shrine rumoured to be able to grant wishes.
Iokawa Karada is troubled by being looked after by Hiro, her older brother.
The death of their parents some four years ago brought her older brother back into her life and since then, he has been looking after her.
Nogami Shouko met a Japanese boy in America, they became close and then he suddenly left.
Now some four years later, Shouko returns to Japan — feeling a bit lost and empty.
And on one hot and fateful summer day, they meet on a lonely rural path next to a small revered shrine.
Be careful of what you wish for.
It might have some complicated and unintended results.

EP1 - The Wishing Stones
At the Iokawa household Karada makes breakfast as well as bentos for the trip she and her older brother are taking to the beach. They meet up with the Amino siblings Tetsumasa and Touko at the station. They are surprised to see the Iokowa siblings bringing along a special guest to the beach named Nogami Shouko.Shouko remains distant during the train ride. Shouko planned on coming back to Japan to start over, and meeting Iokawa Hiro again was outside of her plans.At the beach it is revealed that Karada is going to enter middle school division soon despite her small size. Tetsumasa also has a crush on her. It is revealed to that Nogami Shouko knew Hiro while he was in America, and Touko supposes Shouko used to date Hiro at one time. Karada notices something is wrong, and asks Shouko only to be told she will be told when she is older. Hiro also reveals his sister doesn't like being treated like a child.That evening they go shopping for souvenirs. Hiro buys his little sister Karada a set of white bows. Karada shows the bows off to Shouko who says the bows fit her because they're childish. Karada runs off while Tetsumasa chases after her. Hiro comes out just in time to see Karada run off.After getting back from the train station Hiro tells Karada he needs to talk to Shouko and they head to the bridge nearby. Karada feels she is being treated like a child again. Shouko complains about how she never got to cook for Hiro while she was his girlfriend, and didn't know his favorite food. She also accuses him of leaving him for that girl, and asks why he never told her he had a little sister. She slaps him across the face when he asks her if she still loves him before running off.Shouko and Karada meet beside the wishing stone and under the moonlight the two find themselves switching ages.

EP2 - A Passing Encounter
Karada and Shouko switch ages after Karada wishes to become older. Hiro spends the entire day and night trying to find Karada, only to later encounter Shouko and Karada, whom he doesn't recognize.

EP3 - A New Lifestyle
Shouko and Karada begin adjusting to their new situation. Hiro, still looking for Karada, goes to Shouko's apartment. There, he mistakes Shouko to be her little sister, but later finds out about the age switch. Some of Shouko's past with Hiro is revealed.

EP4 - Please Believe
Hiro is forced into believing Karada and Shoukou's age switch, which is quite hard for Karada. They later go to the Summer Festival and reach an understanding.

EP5 - A Place to Return to
Karada persuades Shoukou to come live with her and her older brother. Shoukou meets Kotomi, who tries to make her play with the kids. Meanwhile, Tetsu is being forced into staying home studying while he wants to look for Karada.

EP6 - Summer's Eternity
Tetsu goes to Karada's apartment to look for her and even talks with her himself, but he doesn't recognize her. The rest of the day, they go around town together to places Karada might be and end up in a hidden place where the source of the river's water is.

EP7 - A Moment Between Them
Hiro's birthday comes around and Karada decides to bake him a cake for the occasion and Shoukou helps her. All the while Shoukou cannot forget about her past with Hiro.

EP8 - Living for the Day After Tomorrow
Karada leaves and tries to live on her own but very soon finds out how hard it really is. During a rainstorm, she remembers the past she had with her parents and when she first met Hiro.

EP9 - The Signpost
Karada starts to work at a pension in order to live on herself. Meanwhile, Tetsu is still on the search for Karada and this time even Kotomi is helping him out.

EP10 - The True Name
Tetsu is still eager to search for Karada, and does not even realize he has already met her. When it starts to rain and he has not come back yet, Karada goes out to search for him.

EP11 - The Present That Exists There
After Tetsu gets over his cold, Karada finally tells him her true identity, though Tetsu doesn't believe her. After coming to terms with what he did to Shouko, Hiro and she take a train together to go see Karada.

EP12 - To Be Here
Eventually Tetsu believes that Karada was turned into an adult. As Kotomi leaves the town to see her father, she gives Shouko a piece of the wishing stone she had. It is implied that they reversed the age switch, and the last shot is of the wishing stone fading into dust.
