Gifuu Doudou!!: Kanetsugu to Keiji
Hiding within his heart the secret of his lord's illegitimate child while risking his life to protect him, Uesugi Kenshin's chief retainer, Naoe Kanetsugu, teamed up with the legendary warrior known as history's most infamous wild man, Maeda Keiji.

EP4 - Arrival in Sado
The Uesugi army, led by Naoe Kanetsugu and Uesugi Kagekatsu arrive to Sado island, despite being aware that . They meet with the head of one of Honma clans, Honma Takatsuna of the Kawarada-Honma clan that rules over northern Sado. He seems to cooperate with the Uesugi army, but once they try to commence a battle with the other Honma clan, the Uesugi army realizes just how dangerous the two feuding families might be... especially together. However, Kanetsugu has something up his sleeve as well...

EP5 - Attack on Sado
Knowing that they are in a trap set by the Chief Advisor, Kanetsugu has something up his own sleeve. The North and South armies of Sado continue their farce of a battle and the North sends in farmers dressed up as soldiers into the river to get shot. This adds to the rage of Keiji and Kanetsugu and this pushes them to finally make their move to take Sado.

The battle in Sado concludes with Uesugi's victory. As Kanetsugu and Keiji recall wrapping things up in Sado, they then remember another incident that threatened the fate of the Uesugi clan. When Kanetsugu was younger, he had visited Oda Nobunaga. Nobunaga gives him a folding fan, but also gives Kanetsugu some startling news...

EP7 - The Truth Spoken to the Moon
Kanetsugu and Keiji discuss with the ghost of Nobunaga on what happened with Kanetsugu bringing the folding fan back to Echigo. A young Kanetsugu, otherwise known as Higuchi Yoroku, went back to Echigo, preparing for his possible death when he learned of his true lineage. He meets with the father who raised him, Higuchi Souemon, and they both go to see Uesugi Kenshin's older sister, Sentouin, where he learns the entire truth of his past.

EP8 - The Wind of the Men of War
Hideyoshi hasn't given up on trying to get his hands on Echigo. This time, he tries to use Maeda Keiji to bring down the Uesugi clan and get his hands on the province. Kanetsugu is informed of this by an unlikely source, and he plans to head into another battle of wits with Hideyoshi and Keiji joins him, despite their lives being at stake once again...

Kanetsugu and Keiji continue to recount their many adventures when they were younger. Keiji asks Kanetsugu how he got to know his spear-bearer, Mosuke. Kanetsugu tells him about their meeting and the sad past that ended up connecting them for the rest of their lives.

Kanetsugu and Keiji finally make it to Kyoto, despite knowing that they are falling right into Hideyoshi's trap. Kanetsugu meets up with Keiji, who is visiting the courtesan, Usugumo. Keiji knows that all he has to do to win this battle, is to lower his head to Hideyoshi, but his pride is giving him a hard time doing that. Meanwhile, Usugumo shows them that they aren't the only eccentrics...

Kanetsugu and Keiji's audience with Hideyoshi is drawing nearer. Keiji has his own idea on what he's going to do, and Mitsunari has made his own arrangements to try to ensure that Keiji doesn't do anything to get him killed. But then Keiji finally appears in front of Hideyoshi...

April, 1590: Hideyoshi finally launches his campaign to conquer Hojo’s Odawara Castle. Meanwhile, Kanetsugu and the Uesugi forces attack Matsuida Castle, but due to Hojo’s vassal Daido Masashige’s strong defense, a stalemate of advancing and retreating ensues. Kanetsugu has a secret plan, however; he takes a dog with him and enters the mountains. That moonlit night above a hill, Kanetsugu hears beautiful sounds of someone playing a flute.

The vassals of the Tokugawa clan scheme to uncover Kenshin’s hidden offspring. “Have you heard of ‘gem eyes’”? An eye is drawn on the back of polished crystal, then inserted into the eye-sockets of the Bodhisattva statue; they are said to resemble real eyes. Kenshin supposedly commanded the crafting of gem-eyes as a memorial offering to Taehime. Now if those gem-eyes have the same characteristic as Kanetsugu’s eyes ... so laughs Ii Naomasa, audaciously.

Date Masamune arrives at the battleground from Oshu, but arrives too late to Odawara; his delinquency angers Hideyoshi, who sentences him to stay confined in Hakone. Prior to the siege of Hachioji Castle, Kanetsugu visits the Hakone hot springs to assess Kojuro’s intentions. But here comes Kojuro’s lord, Date Masamune himself, who raises his fists to the moonlit sky: “I will eventually be ruler”!

Jirobo, Sagen, Ieyasu, and Shima Sakon: All men with different motives, but they all have one thing in common - they are in pursuit of KenshinÕs Jizo-Bodhisattva statue. Jirobo gets closest to the clue of its whereabouts, and he sends Kanetsugu a report. Jirobo had been on the verge of death, but was saved by White Cloud; now he goes to Daiyoin, TaehimeÕs sister, where he is told a shocking fact by Daiyoin. Kanetsugu reads JiroboÕs report, and sighs ... Oda Nobunaga was in possession of the Jizo Bodhisattva!

Nobunaga's Ninja Ban Tarozaemon gives clues to Jirobo and Sagen about the whereabouts of the Jizo Bodhisattva statue, respectively in two parts. Jirobo finds himself all alone as he takes a trip to the mountains with an entire Iga Ninja army, as he must guard Kanetsugu's secret.

At an inn on their way, Sakon informs Kanetsugu about Hideyoshios ailment, and speaks of his dream as a strategist. Early in the morning as they are about to leave the inn, a giant body shows up, with white fur smeared in blood.

EP25 - Episode 25
Shimosaka Sagen and a force of 300 Iga ninjas await Kanetsugu at the cemetery of Mount Koya. Though Kanetsugu and party seem to be doomed, his secret scheme proves efficacious. Sagen decides to reject his affiliation with Tokugawa, and determines to fight Kanetsugu one on one. KanetsuguÕs actions are strange; he takes an iron fan in hand, and begins to dance. The battle for the Jizo Bodhisattva, which contains critical secrets of Uesugi, comes to its righteous conclusion.
