Synopsis:
ドラグーン開発以降、進撃に弾みをつけた連合軍はギガノス軍を圧倒していた。地球上のギガノス軍は次々と敗走し、もはや月の司令部と機動要塞を残すのみとなる。
しかし思考コントロールシステムで連合軍艦隊を瞬く間に壊滅させた機動要塞の戦闘力はケーンたちでも戦慄するものがあり、一刻も早い対処が望まれた。そのため、プラート博士の立案した作戦に沿って太陽発電衛星の奪取作戦が開始される。
その一方でひとり思い悩むケーン。どうやら行方不明だった彼の母、アオイ・ワカバが機動要塞に捕らわれているらしく、ギガノスからの極秘通信でそのことを知らされ投降を要求されていたからだ。そしてライトやタップたちが太陽発電衛星を奪取し、機動要塞にぶつけようとしたまさにその時、ついにギガノスへの投降を決意してしまう！
太陽発電衛星が直撃したにも関らず機動要塞は健在、ケーンもギガノスに投降、２重の衝撃が連合軍に走る･･･
