Akisame Tamao is a student at Hyakki Academy and is apart of Abe Haruaki's class. He is a nekomata youkai, which is part of the youkai group that can transform into animals.

Tamao has blond and red hair. The right side of his hair is red. He has a pair of blond coloured cat ears on his head and wears what appear to be a red collar around his neck. Like most of his male classmates, he is wearing their black uniform, he keeps the jacket open which reveals a t-shirt. Each chapter the t-shirt has different writing on it.
